In this blog section I want to tell you about things I love – whether it’s a gift for someone or more importantly, the items I use every day in my kitchen.
If you own my cookbooks, in the back of the book, there is a section where I list all the kitchen equipment you will need to be successful.
The first item I want to highlight is the microplane. I love it, and I don’t feel like it’s in everyone’s kitchen, and I think that needs to change. Click here to buy one from my Amazon store.
Why I love it – well, I use it for grating garlic, zesting citrus, and grating a whole piece of nutmeg. And of course, making it snow parmesan onto my pasta dishes. I do not suggest using it on a soft cheese or a block of cheese as the grates are too fine and you’ll wind up with clumps and a lot of cursing at the kitchen sink as you try to clean it!
