Meet Jill, an OG East Coast Girl with a California Way of Cooking

Cookbook author, cooking instructor, mom, and the voice behind What’s in the Fridge? Welcome to my virtual kitchen. Here’s how it all started.

A young girl with dark curly hair, wearing a pink and white floral shirt and a white headband, holding a plate of food with rice, grilled meat, and vegetables, smiling at the camera.

MY STORY

How My Cooking Journey Began…

It all started with a plastic-food restaurant, a few imaginary customers, and a lot of yelling, “Order up!” From there came an E-Z Bake Oven, a very proud first stir-fry, feeding sitcom writers in Los Angeles, a personal chef business, and over 150 cooking classes with students ages 5 to 80. Now there are two cookbooks and a brand new virtual kitchen.

Isn’t my wallpaper cute?! I hope you’ll stay and look around or come back and see what’s new in my kitchen. Pull up a stool, I’ll always have a story to share!

Inside My Kitchen

My Approach to Making You Confident in the Kitchen: Preparedness

It starts with a plan. Each cookbook comes with balanced snack and meal charts, plus, a comprehensive list to help you stock your fridge, freezer, and pantry. Use my recipes as your scaffolding and get creative with your own spin. Or follow them to a tee. Either way, I've got the Post-it notes to help you through it.

Making Headlines
(Okay, one headline. For now.)

My hometown paper, The Baltimore Sun, featured What's in the Dorm Fridge? in its Education Guide. A Baltimore girl lands in LA, raises a college kid, and writes a cookbook so dorm dinners can be better than takeout. I'd read it.

Stack of notebooks titled 'What's in the Fridge?' on a table, with one notebook open showing colorful sticky notes with messages, and additional notes and stickers on the covers.
